The holiday season can take a toll on your skin. From the non-stop eating to the late-night partying our skin does a little freaking out. We are overwhelmed with stress, party planning, shopping, etc. It’s a good idea to have a few strategies in place to help keep your skin looking it’s best during the holiday season. Here are a few suggestions from us.
- Keep the skin clean and hydrated. Before going to bed, always cleanse your skin, and remove impurities such as oil and makeup. Never ever fall asleep without cleansing your skin. Your skin does most of its repair work at night, so it’s important to make sure it’s thoroughly clean and hydrated before you go to bed. Using a night cream, like our restorative hydrating night cream, will help to nourish and hydrate your skin while you sleep. When you wake, your skin will look smooth and aglow.
- Exfoliate a few times a week. We tend to apply more makeup than usual during the holidays to look fabulous. By exfoliating the skin, you are not only prepping the skin for a smooth foundation application, but you are removing all the dead skin cells and impurities that can lead to breakouts. Our daily bamboo exfoliant is great for all skin types, it’s not overly abrasive and it won’t dry out your skin.
- Don’t Forget Your Lips. When it comes to skin care, many of us forget how important it is to take care of our lips. Without proper precautions, painful cracking and peeling of the lips can set in, and no amount of lipstick can make this look or feel better. Our ever-moist lip balm is exactly what you need this holiday season to help hydrate and repair damaged cells and revitalize the lips (hint: It also makes a great gift).
- Try a mask. If your skin is feeling tired, stressed, or dull consider trying our detox-oxygenating reaffirming mask. This mask is created with OXYGESKIN® which promotes skin oxygenation and improved complexion radiance, helping brighten dull skin, leaving you with healthy glowing skin for all your holiday parties.
Even if you don’t have time for special treatments and facials keep up with cleansing, exfoliating and hydrating to keep your skin looking picture perfect over the holidays. Try not to let things slide, no matter how busy you are. If you have a late-night party don’t slink into bed without removing your makeup and applying your night cream. A minute of care can make all the difference over the party season.
