TINA NEWMAN NAMED MANAGING DIRECTOR OF
Beauty industry veteran to oversee fund development, communications and operations
The AiRS Foundation announced today that former beauty industry executive and media member Tina Newman will serve as its first managing director.
The AiRS Foundation was formed in Dallas in 2012 by co-founders Dr. Janet Denlinger and Morgan Hare of Hylaco LLC, and internationally renowned Dallas plastic surgeon Rod J. Rohrich, M.D. Its mission is to provide education and funding to help women who cannot afford breast reconstructive surgery after
breast cancer surgery.
Newman brings decades of beauty, media and charitable expertise to the AiRS Foundation. She most recently served as a national sales director at NewBeauty Magazine, where she was responsible for integrated marketing and ad campaigns in the beauty and luxury categories. Prior to that, she served in various capacities at national beauty and lifestyle publications at Condé Nast, Time Inc. and Hearst, among others, and in sales and marketing services positions for Estée Lauder and Clinique brands.
As managing director of the AiRS Foundation, Newman will work to advocate for the education and support of women who have undergone breast cancer surgery and let them know the valuable resources available to them through the foundation.
“My goal is to bring together women in need and give them the highest level of service for something they otherwise could not obtain on their own, but may desperately feel they need to get on with their lives,” said Newman. “I look forward to capitalizing on my personal and professional passion to build relationships with corporate decision makers and philanthropic donors to build awareness and funding for the AiRS Foundation. I truly believe I will make a difference.”
While federal and state laws require insurers to cover the cost of reconstructive surgery after mastectomy, many women still are unable to afford it. AiRS hopes Newman can help grow the foundation with the goal of helping to ensure that every woman who needs and wants reconstruction after mastectomy can get it.
“As someone whose goals are perfectly aligned with ours, Tina is the ideal person to lead the AiRS Foundation,” said Hare. “The entire leadership board strives to deliver enhanced treatment and outcomes for women after mastectomy who simply don’t know what options and resources are available to them after surviving such
a life-changing event.”

About the AiRS Foundation
Alliance in Reconstructive Surgery Foundation (AiRS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping survivors of mastectomy around the world restore normalcy to their lives by providing access to reconstructive breast surgery. Founded in 2012, AiRS provides physician training, opportunity, and funding to make that possible. AiRS' mission is to help women who cannot afford this procedure. Restorative breast surgery is a vital part of total physical and emotional healing for many breast cancer survivors. Yet up to 70% of those who want reconstructive surgery do not have adequate insurance or financial resources to pay for it.
Educating women about post-mastectomy options is of particular importance, especially when a large percentage of women diagnosed with breast cancer are unsure – or unaware – of their reconstruction options. Most breast cancer patients who have had a complete or partial mastectomy (removal of all or some of the breast tissue and nipple) are candidates for reconstructive surgery. AiRS works in partnership with doctors worldwide, providing the resources to make reconstruction a reality for cancer survivors. To this end AiRS also provides physician education and training, globally, while supporting advances in healthcare research.
