eraclea Proudly Supports The AiRS Foundation
Founded in 2012, by Dr. Janet Denlinger and Morgan Hare, the founders of eraclea®, and Dr. Rod Rohrich, AiRS is an advocate for restorative breast surgery, a vital part of total physical and emotional healing for many breast cancer survivors.
When the founders of AiRS learned that up to 70% of the survivors who desire reconstructive surgery do not have sufficient insurance or other resources to cover it, they were shocked. How could it be that after such a strenuous battle many of these women were left with a daily reminder of their fight with cancer? Are women aware of their options? Why is no one talking about this?
Left with many unanswered questions and understanding the importance for many women to feel whole again after a mastectomy, the three put their heads together to find a way to advocate, educate and help these women. They set out on a journey to not only raise money, but to bring together caring and compassionate doctors, RNs and hospitals, offering them the chance to make a difference in women’s lives. Thus, the AiRS Foundation was born.
The Foundation offers funding for breast cancer reconstruction, as well as education for physicians and the medical communities, mastectomy patients, caregivers and advocacy organizations. While every woman who has had a mastectomy might not feel the need for reconstructive surgery, AiRS makes it possible for women to consider all options regardless of their economic circumstances.
